Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) together with the Ministry of Health of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia will organize the First Russian-African exercises of rapid response teams for emergency situations of sanitary and epidemiological nature, which will take place on 23-25 April 2025 in Addis Ababa.

The exercise will be held in a hybrid format and will bring together about 100 participants from 15 African countries, Russia and international organizations.

The exercise will include a demonstration of Russian-made mobile laboratories. Participants will practice practical interaction between specialists of international epidemiological and laboratory teams in responding to an outbreak of infectious disease, exchange experience on strategy and tactics of using mobile laboratory units to respond to public health emergencies.

Theoretical and practical tasks for participants are devoted to the handling of personal protective equipment, sampling of clinical material and environmental objects, elimination of accidents with pathogenic biological agents, as well as the organization of mobile laboratory field work and interaction with relevant authorities and agencies.
